Von
Queston Dobermanns Australia:
Based in Brisbane Qld we
bought our first Doberman seven years ago.
Before that time we were
in love with German Shepherds who we still think are a great
all round dog.
However once you have
owned a Doberman you simply cannot go to
any other breed.
The
majestic experience you have with these noble creatures goes
beyond compare. They are extremely loving & fiercely loyal to
all their family including little kids, the grace & poise in
their being is something to really behold.
However, buyer beware:
If you are thinking of purchasing a puppy from
this magnificent
breed make sure that you buy from a reputable
registered
breeder.
Be sure to socialise your puppy very early on & also make sure that you do full obedience training as they can be a
very Dominant & Arrogant dog in the wrong hands.
Research & check the
bloodlines to make sure the temperament is sound,
& that
previous owners of puppies bought from the kennel can verify the
soundness of the breed.
We Do Not Lock our dogs in cages
all day like some breeders ....
Meinemann Zendai was originally purchased
from that great man Andrew
Klenke at 8 weeks of age
and lucky for us she was the pick of the litter!
Zendai is now 5 years old and has brought us a ton of fun, she displays
all the great things that Dobermanns are bred for. She is a very clever
dog who constantly amazes us with her antics.
We are entering into a
very exciting time now with the addition of the
Great Queston
Les Deux Peupliers -
The Highest Ever European Titled Working
Doberman
in
Australia's History!
as well as a host of new imports to
our
Kennels.
These dogs have it all & we look forward to
presenting you with the
very best Doberman bloodlines in the world, for
temperament, working
abilities, health & looks.
Look forward to meeting
or talking with you soon,
Best Regards,
Alan & Renee Carrington

What is a Doberman?
"Most people who have owned a Doberman will agree, there are other
dogs; then there are Dobermans, the dog of dogs.
Talking about Doberman ownership is a little like trying to explain
a family relationship, for a Dobermann demands and takes a full
place in your heart & life.
A Doberman is either trained by you or trains you, and for the most
part it is a little of both. A Doberman wants to be with you, to
help you, to torment you, love you and guard you. He will work
ways to get what he wants.
A Doberman is an energetic dog with lots of strength, speed and
agility. He can run with a horse, maneuver quickly enough to
catch a rabbit, track faster than a bloodhound, tree a mountain
lion and beat you to the davenport every time, if you let him.
A Doberman is a gentle dog,
with the firmness and the courage of the strong.
Who are we?
We are dedicated and upcoming breeders who are
dedicated to the Doberman and we breed only from the best
working lines in the world.
We most importantly stress a flawless temperament! We prefer a dog
which has a high prey drive to work with AND still has the
loving "hug-me" Doberman - personality. We could tolerate a dog
having no interest in shows or Schutzhund work and just being a
couch potato, but shyness, having an unpredictable temperament or
unfounded aggressiveness are ABSOLUTELY
INTOLERABLE!
When we produce a litter, we very carefully evaluate and place the
puppies. We consider them part of our dober-family throughout
their whole life, even when they live with somebody else. We
rather keep them all than place them in the wrong home. We will
always try to eliminate the slightest chance of improper
breeding for the betterment of the breed! All our dogs come with
a full Health Guarantee & our breeding stock have exhaustive
Health Testing done including VWD on our founding stock.
What are we aiming for?
- We are aiming to get as close as possible to
100% sound structure and balance, since only structural
soundness will result in correct movement, beauty and longevity.
- The best possible temperament which will result in a loving
devoted Doberman-companion who will be a pleasure to live with and
comfort and protect his owner. We believe that soundness in
structure and mind results in external beauty, not vice versa!
What don’t we do?
- We will not produce dogs that are beautiful, but die at a young
age or will be in the need of constant medical treatment as an
effect of parents which were not completely health-tested
individuals. No breeder can prevent or guarantee ALL diseases,
but it’s our ethical commitment to step-by-step eliminate the
hereditary and traceable genetic defects trough selective
breeding. Having people loose their beloved companion trough an
avoidable disease is a tragedy we don’t want to be part of.
We will not give away dogs into a prospective kennel life. Our dogs
live with us in the house, the only place these sensitive and
company-loving animals belong.
- We will not give dogs to people who solely want a "guard dog"
and want to impress with their "Dangerous Doberman" and turn the
dog into an emotional cripple.
A Doberman is a sensitive dog, keenly alert to
your feelings and wishes. If someone visits you, whom you do not
like, watch the dog for he will be watching your visitor. You
become a part of him and he becomes a part of you.
The only tragic part of owning a Doberman is that part of you that
is buried when he dies.
Each Doberman is different, yet each exhibits
"Doberman characteristics of mind and disposition." Called "the
dog with the human mind", the Doberman will do just about
anything but talk, and often a doberman will hold quite a lengthy
conversation with you about something which is important to him
at the moment.
Probably the most distinguishing thing about a Doberman is the
speed of reaction. Where another dog is doing one thing, a
Doberman will do ten. They learn through watching. They learn
through trial and error, and often seem to reason things out.
Though deeply loyal, they are clowns who have minds of their
own.
The Loyalty of Dobermans is beyond most of us to understand. It
extends not only to their owners, but to their companions. It is
not unusual to hear of Dobes that mourn to death because of a
lost mate. Nor is it unusual to hear of Dobermans that recognise
friends after years of separation. The world of Doberman lore is
filled with stories; it would take books for them all. Each dog
is different, but each is a character, a beloved character."
